My Future

My days were lost yesterday

My future was not bright

I live in total darkness

There was no sign of light.

But today I have new days

New days to fill my life

Today I have understood

The importance of time

My future now is endless

There is no chance of death

For one this life is over

I will get my second breath

Anger is Dangerous

Last winter, I along with my family was sitting by the fire talking with each other. As always, I was busy telling them about the school day. My talk was not even finished; mom took me in the kitchen and made me help her. I went to the TV room to watch cartoon. As soon as I started watching it, my brother entered the room. Since, I didn't let him watch the show he wanted, he started doing things like dancing in front of the screen, making funny faces etc. It annoyed me and I went to my mom again. I started the same story I was telling before. But she was not listening to me which made me upset. Then, I became really very angry. At the same time my brother came there and started teasing me. It made me lose my temper. I was holding a noodle fork in my hand. I warned him "stop teasing me or I will ........" But before my words, my hands worked. I threw the fork and it hit his left thigh. He screamed "Mummy!!!"

I thought he was just joking and mom didn't care either. But suddenly I saw the blood flowing on the floor from his left foot which frightened me. I cried and ran to my room. My brother was taken to the emergency chamber. I couldn't do anything except crying. At night he returned home. Since it was just a fork, it didn't harm him much. I went to his room and apologized for my mistakes.

I realized anger is really very dangerous, health wise and socially as well. Since then, I always try not to get angry. Sometimes I get bone chilling sensation in me thinking that what would have happened if I had had a knife in my hand rather than just a noodle fork!!!????.

My Family

There are five members in my family: my father, mother, sister, brother and me. I love all of them. I  love these persons most. All of them also love me. My sister shares all her things and feelings with me. My little, small, cute brother tells everything to me. My parents are God for me. They are with me in every right step. They suggest me for my wrong work. When my parents shout at me, I don't feel angry. I think that they shout for my good only. My sister and brother are friends for me. I tell my every feeling to them.

So, my family is everything for me. I love them very much. All the family members are equally important for me.

School

School is a second home of students and teachers are also second parents of students. Teachers take place of our parents in schools. We make many friends in school and some of them remain our true friend throughout the life. We learn values like sharing, kindness, politeness helping and respecting others in school. It is in school that we learn discipline and the way to follow a routine. In school we get education to find what is wrong and what is right. We can get education from school and education leads us from darkness to light. We learn to play various games, do yoga and exercises, and learn music dance, art and various other activities from school. In school we can share our feelings and fears with our friends. In school we make fun sometimes. A school provides a very safe and healthy environment for our development and progress. Without education we cannot be healthy. Education is necessary for our daily life. If we don't go to school we cannot be educated and healthy. We should go to school to be educated, healthy and to get an opportunity to discover our talents.

Computers

Computers are good friends of human being. Computer is an electronic device which manipulates with numbers and symbols, takes an input, processes it, stores it and gives an out put. Computers have five features. They are Speed, Memory, Accuracy, Diligence and Automation. Computers can store a large amount of data or information. Computers can work continuously for a long time. It does its work automatically. Computers are very useful to us. We can work fast with the help of computer. Computers work on the basis of electric pulses due to which there is no chance of its making a mistake. If once it is started to do any task there is no chance of its making mistake. Educational Travelling

Travelling means going from one place to another on foot or by vehicles. Travelling has brought many changes in human life. Without travelling nothing is possible to discover. Travelling gives us pleasure, knowledge and ideas. We become familiar with the reality. We see beautiful places and fine scenes. It broadens our minds.

Travelling in developed countries is different from the travelling in developing countries. In our context, there are many problems such as bad roads, unskilled manpower, poverty in the people, etc. But in developed countries, all things are done well. They have faster means of transport. People can really enjoy travelling a lot in developed countries

Travelling has different purposes. One of them is for educational purpose. Generally educational tour is very important and necessary for students. In fact, educational travelling is very important for everybody. It has got many prospects. It helps our study. It makes us familiar with the people, places and other things. It develops our minds. It recreates our minds, helps us to know the customs, cultures and manners of particular places and people.

So, educational travelling is important for all. If we always do theory work then we can't get outer knowledge and can't get success or better result. But practical work helps us a lot. Only writing and reading the course book is not the aspects to be good persons. We should have extra knowledge. For these we should travel different places which are important.

Hostel Life

'Hostel life' really sounds awesome. Some people have got negative impacts of hostel. They think that only the people who are miscreants live there. But I think it's a peculiar thought of feeble mind.

Being a boarder, I proudly say that 'Hostel' is a home where we can find teachers as parents, and sisters and brothers. The starting days in hostel seem like strange and nasty but as the days pass on it's going to seem an enjoyment.

Grumbling about food in low voice with friends, joking, doing caricature of Piya's funny moves, listening beautiful songs from Mona, glancing at Gitu's eyes, listening silly talks and only a word 'Navya' from Supu's mouth and looking at sleepy face of Jem after 8 o' clock in the evening are my usual stuffs these days. These are the funny things which are done by us, the six pals in study class.

But, as we do funny things in hostel, we also keep ourselves serious in our studies. Sitting in the same class from 6 o' clock in the morning till 9:30 o' clock at night is really very boring. Of course, we'll be tired. But it is beneficial for us only, as we'll get enough time to study to secure good marks in exams.

Really, the days spent in hostel will always remain in my heart as the memorable moments of my life. And I want to say "Where there is will, there is a way" which means if someone wills to stay in hostel and improve his/her study then obviously he/she will climb the ladder of success. So if you want to improve your study then for whom are you waiting for? Come and join the hostel.

My Father Didn't Recognize Me!

I still remember some of the situations from where I collected sweet, bitter as well as funny types of unforgettable memories. Whenever I go through them or recall them sweet ones bring a smile on my face, bitter ones come with goose bumps and the funny ones make me laugh all alone. I still remember the day from when I collected all three kinds of memories.

It was about five years ago when playing, watching cartoon shows on TV, making pictures, riding bicycle, etc. were my hobbies. After returning home from school, first of all I used to finish my home assignment, watch cartoon shows and ride bicycle until the sun set.

One day, as usual I finished all my home works and sat in front of TV and waited for my favorite cartoon show. I waited and waited. After a while, when I opened my eyes I found that the show was almost finished. I had fallen asleep while waiting. Then I rushed downstairs, held my mom and asked her to buy a CD of that show. Jumping and rolling on the floor I cried like a drunkard. My father then searched for the CD in the near by shops but at last he returned empty handed. Then he promised me to buy it after some days and sent me out with my younger brother to ride my small bicycle.

I nearly forgot everything about the show and enjoyed the ride. I was riding at the side of the street. Suddenly,  my tyres slipped and I fell down in a huge puddle along with my bicycle. My red cycle turned black and I was looking like a piece of cake dipped in chocolate sauce. Instead of helping me to get out from the puddle, my brother rushed home laughing like an evil creature. I hardly took me and the bicycle out of it. When I looked up I found my aunt staring angrily at me. She then scolded me for my new dirty look.

From the window of my room my dad and uncle were looking at me. I gave smile to them and then my dad shouted and said, "Hey! Why are you scolding the dirty street child?" I was shocked hearing that and rushed home and said, "Dad it's me your daughter. Don't you recognize me?" My father was shocked and so was I. Then my mom took me for a bath. My bicycle was hidden and later sold.

Whenever, I remember that day a smile comes remembering the situation when I cried like a mad, goose bumps appear in my whole body remembering my great fall in the puddle, and I laugh furiously whenever I remember the moment when my father could not recognize me

Uncertainities of Life.....

Nature, the word nature resembles with discipline. We discover that everything in nature undergo discipline. Even a minute thing goes as per the things it has to be carried on.

In the course of a river, in the lifecycle of a butterfly, in the development of a tiny seed into a plant and even in the rising and setting of the sun, nature has got some kind of discipline to inspire us.

Even with such incomparable discipline, now, the world has changed and so has the nature!! Unpredictable occurring takes place. As, sometimes, we can notice rain in winter and chilling wind in June, July which is uncertain and so is the same with life.

Sometimes, staring up in the sky, I ask the moon, "What in fact life is?" That new moon night can not answer me, rather its silence dilated my curiosity. I asked her: "Is it the way, the cloud sometimes cover you faintly and shadow your beauty?? Or is it the way, it runs away from you and returns you your beauty??"

At some instance, I thought, life is a package of fun, when I mesmerized my past memories with my companions, my parents, relatives and others too. And again, those sad memories which covered the happy ones made me cry. Well.... it was then, when I realized it as a period with miscellaneous uncertainties which can either make you cry or make you smile.

And, as far as, I analyzed, life is more sorrowful and dreary than full of mirth. Because, even in these short span of 13years, I  have experienced many night mares like the uncertain death of Frank dai, Bijay dai, and the most dreadful, recent event of our sister's (Salisma Kayastha) mother's death.

But even then, "every cloud has a silver lining", so let's spend each and every moment of our life lively. And, what I feel is, each and every moment must be relished whether it be happy or be disheartening. As, who knows, which uncertain thing might befall tomorrow??.....

Father

Father is a person who takes care of all family members. He is the one who takes all the responsibilities. He fulfills all the desires of the members. He protects our family. He sacrifices his wishes but he always fulfills others' wishes. He shows the right path to his children. He behaves as a friend to his children, so that his children may feel easy to share their problems with him. This way father solves the problems of children and makes them to take correct decision. So father is very important member of the family. Therefore we must respect our father and love him as well.

My Relation with the Paintings and Colours

Life is great, bright and colourful for everyone. For me also the colours help me make my life beautiful and colourful. I remember my days having joys with colours and brushes when I am alone. As I believe that they are my only friends for whole life. I splash many colors in one sheet be it landscape or portrait and give shape with brushes. In winter when I feel cold I give a look at yellow warm colour and it makes me feel warm. In summer the blue colour makes me cool.

I was so touched with the paintings when I was in grade six. Up to now I have been  doing various types of paintings. For me painting is not just to see the pictures and drawings. If we imagine and draw, that is called painting. Sometimes I have seen many of the paintings in my dream and I want to sketch them in my real life. I never feel sad when my paintings do not become good the one I want them to be, it is because what I make cannot be copied by others. So, I feel the painting is not the thing that can be exactly copied by others.

Hence paintings are the only things that make me feel amused and happy. My colours need me to use them and I need them to have fun and make my life happier.

To Accomplish a Dream

Through all the hardship

And beyond any relation or friendship

From depth of my heart and mind

Comes a dream everyday of a kind

Everyday in front of my eyes

Where my entire wish lies

A dream that makes me different

And helps me to know for what I meant

I can be unique from all

Makes my pride really tall

And always helps me to know

That I've something in me to show.

I need to put some more efforts

To build my own castle and forts

To accomplish my goal

I need to put it on my soul

For the difficult process like this

Comes need of hardship which I can't miss

Comes need of love and passion

Apart from any other fashion

And requires belief in oneself

This always leads to the path of success

Don't be afraid of any test

Always try to do your best

Then just like a farmer

Plant your meadow in the spring

And see what harvest summer will bring....

Today's Generation

The world is growing larger and larger day by day. What people used to do and how they used to behave 10 years back has today been an interesting tale for present generation. We even don't know how to climb uphill which our forefathers were compelled to do time and again. This is how we are modernized. We are facilitated by modern technologies.

With the change of time, we have many more choices today. We can visit the land of superlatives and every nook and corner of the world in no time. Yes, it is acceptable that we've been benefited a lot due to scientific innovations and discoveries. But, if we take it otherwise, our efficiencies are slowly being diminished. We are being dependent and impractical.

Further, we just work for our benefit but never think about others. We behave as if we have lived to eat, but not eat to live. We know more how to scuffle with others but have less feeling of brotherhood and unity. We never watch news but always watch movies and cartoons. We loosen our tongue quickly but remember less; we depend on technologies but never work on our own.

We feel uneasy when we have to stand with our traditional dress and devour traditional food but feel proud when we are given chance to stand with the modern dress or banquet with modern fast  food. We never want to be traditional or simple but always wish to be complex and so called modern. We Nepalese, don't dream about our heavenly native land but make the USA our dreamland. We never initiate to work for our nation but are ever ready to promote others. We always want to be rich in wealth but remain poor with heart, knowledge and skills.

We never learn for future, but just learn for today. This is how our behavior is changing in leaps and bounds. Every one of us is affected due to the habits of imitating others, which is obviously a bad omen for our up-coming generations.

So, please! Have a thought just today!!!

Living through Perfect Moments

That five year old kid who hated her new school as much as her little heart could, had never thought that the hell she feared to enter could turn into heaven. I used to cry as much as I could when I was left in the school by my parents but now that same school has turned into that heaven from where I don't want to take a step out.

As time passed by I grew older and the studies got harder but also, life is 'full of life': fun with friends, punishments of teachers and so on. I still remember me and my friend Palishra getting punishment of standing outside the class the whole period in the HPE class just because she threw my  glasses out of the window. Also every one of us getting punishment in Social class, in which the teacher made us walk in the corridor holding ears and call ourselves 'donkey' while entering the class room is fresh in my mind. Perhaps all those activities seemed so clumsy at that time but now, when we recall the moments they seem as perfect as fascinatingl memory.

Well, everybody loves to spend time with their friends and I am not an exception. While hanging around with friends, a group was formed that was not other than 'SPEPSS'. 'SPEPSS' represent the very first letter of their first names i.e. Shreya, Prashima, Elisha, Palishra, Sneha and Saniksha. Also, the name of our bench is represented by the first letter of the nick names of the bench members (Prashima, Sneha, Shreya and Elisha) i.e. 'DISS'. Let me keep the nick names secret for now at least. We the SPEPSS, shared our joys and sorrows with each other, stood firmly for each other in every cold situation. Our HATE LIST was one of the most exciting part. Besides SPEPSS, there are many other friends close to me. We all together lived and have been living through perfect moments in our school life. I know it's hard to come across such buddies later on and its almost impossible finding very encouraging and inspiring teachers who always showed me my potentiality.

Now I am living through 'Perfect Moments'.

Twilight

Twilight is believed to be the saddest time of the day when yet another beautiful day is about to end and when the evil finds its safest moment to attack upon the innocents.

We the normal people, at an average condition believe it's the worst time of the day to mark as a beginning. It is usually considered inauspicious and is brought up in use by doing tasks like nothing, taking a break from work, planning to wrap up, etc. Especially, we the Hindus who believe to wake up with the sun, work with it and end the day with it are compulsorily bounded by the social norms that don't prefer people staying out after twilight.

Even the other people, let alone typical Hindus, fear the twilight. They too believe in those nasty ghostly things that give birth to mythologies like of the demons, evils and mostly the blood sucking vampires. Every other person in the world to some extent agrees with the fact that not exactly goose bumps but slight wobbling in the heart do take place when they are far-out, alone at the twilight.

So, why do we fear twilight or why don't we prefer it to the dawn when we believe good works are to be commenced? Why don't we prefer starting our new business plan at around six in the evening than at around six in the morning?

How come some psychological disorders created in our minds because of our grand parents being a reason that snatched away some useful time out of our work schedule?

It is not a need to just get stuck in the negative aspects of twilight but if we want then we can make the best use of it. For a person like me apart from any religion, twilight is the favorite part of the day. For creative and new thinking youngsters its the perfect time when nature calms down a bit and looks the most pleasant of all. It's the time when I actually prefer simply standing in my verandah and glaring at the softly coming light when the scorching sun is below the horizon. The sky, at its far end seems to swallow the huge star and at the other end seems to give birth to a silvery shining moon.

This is the time when I feel the most comfortable. It's the time when I don't have to fear standing out for if someone will catch me crying. This is the time when I believe everyone should be left alone with the nature, sharing all emotions with her, apologizing for misdeeds, self regretting, self praising, exposing the hidden pain and simply just being ourselves.

Twilight, is the time which is most personal, the most private; forget the saying that its inauspicious or the period of destruction. It's rather the period of creativity, love, improvement and calmness. Twilight thus, is the time of pacifying oneself and believing in becoming a new and pious individual.

I Lost You.....

As the first drop of rain poured on my face I recalled back all my memories that were concealed inside the depth of my heart with eyes full of tears and gathering all his belongings on my hand my heart started cursing the day when he left me.

Though death is a natural phenomenon its too hard to loose someone whom you love and care the most. As it is said that silence comes in many ways - with the end of love between two lovers, anger between two rivals, the death and the like. Silence came in my life with his death clogging every breath I took with sadness.

Unbearable with memories I kept on remembering how he used to be the one, waiting for me just outside the door, every morning wagging his tail as excitedly as he could. It reminded me how he would bark every time I went out and be happy whenever he would see me coming. How he used to sit right beside me and cheer me up whenever I felt low I remembered how he followed me everywhere when he was just six months old when he was first brought to me. I miss him more than I have missed anyone in my entire life so far. I hate when I hold his belongings and remember the fact that he is no more with me.

It was a terrible death and seeing him in pain I used to pray, "Please god! Make him well" but I guess fate had something else for us and that was it. I ended up crying whole night with the pain of loosing him. I was hurt because my best friend would not be with me anymore. Now, though many years have passed and my bruise almost seems to heal but every time when I see any other dog which seems just like him the pain and the emotions recall back the past again. Photos are only the way to remember him now.

A dog is a man's best friend till the end of his life but now I believe as nobody knows what the pain of losing a dear one is until we ourselves face it.

What I lacked

Life has become very different lately. Now I have been put into this expectation of being matured. But I ignored them (knowing I shouldn't have). So now when I look back and see what I have left, it really makes me think for a while. Frankly saying, I have really spoilt myself.

I'm not regretting though it may sound I am. Everybody has to face the consequences of the mistakes they have made and I am no exception. But realizing your mistakes and confessing them and knowing your mistakes and crying over them are totally different things to do. I choose the former one not to feel pity on my self for doing so unfair to my life.

Ok, let's come to the point. Well, I had this stupid concept of not making an effort if nobody appreciated. Now it seems so silly; I had been so silly. But thanks to my friends who never made me feel that I was the only idiot left with that idea. Senseless, I know! 'little extra effort for excellence', may be that was what made them different or may be that was what made us different, not making effort what so ever, that was what I lacked. A habit of completing the task handed over to me without expecting appreciation. Needless to say, I left everything undone, every task incomplete and even if complete with no significant effort of my own.

So now we're here, at the end of these thirteen great years here at this school. It's been a privilege being a part of VS. Now these six months are left with us. That's it, they end and we're out. Nevertheless, I'm none of the quitters or the loosers who cry on their faults.
